From Sunday, April 26
It's Sunday. I can't believe how long it's been since I've written. It's not like I've been doing much. I work. I see the babies play soccer. I read. It's not a very exciting life but it's all mine.
It's getting ready to storm here in KC. I've had the windows open for a week or so. It's so nice outside. Ok. So I just closed the windows thinking about that scary rain coming in.
I'm hoping to take my last test in two weeks. That means I have to start studying tomorrow. Blah. Better that in the summer I guess.
A few weeks ago, Saving Abel came to town. I hung out with Scott. I'm pretty sure we drank too much!! It was good to connect with someone from my Memphis past that wasn't an ex-boyfriend! Plus, with someone who deserves all that has happened to him with the success of the band. They are coming back for RockFest! in May and we'll be going. I can't even imagine being on a tour bus that long! He gave me a tour. Crazy small! I also got a VIP pass for the concert and was all trying to be cool. I'm not cool! Ha! I got to stand literally right under the stage to the right side (stage left?). Incredible. I have lots of little camera videos I will post eventually. Anyway, like I said, we had a good time. It's weird to hang out with someone that people recognize in a bar!!
I'm finally getting settled into the "new" place. I still have some cleanign up to do, but I'm basically in. Mom and I got a buffet for the living room over Easter and it's now my tv stand. It works great and is the design I love! It rode around in my car for 1.5 weeks before Lisa and Alicia were able to come over and help me carry it up the stairs. Then we went to the Plaza for dinner and beer at the Kona Grill. That was this past Wednesday, the first day it was really nice outside. There were tons of people out there!
I've been reading The Plot Against America by Philip Roth. It's amazing. I have never read anything from Roth. It's well-written and reads very easily.
Fe and Gus are having their annual Derby party this weekend. It will be fun to get out of town for the weekend and see them. We're all trying to figure out what to do for my (32!) birthday this year. It lands the Thursday before Memorial Day - the closest it's been to Memorial Day in a very long time. I love three day weekends. That will also be 3 months for me at work. Vacation! Insurance! Woo!
Like I said, not much going on. It's already 10 pm!! Geez. I didn't do anything useful today!! Lisa had a slumber party last night. I really needed to vacuum out my car today but it was so muggy!! My DVD player died on Friday at lunchtime. I've been coming home every day for lunch and end up doing an 8 minute leg or arm video. However, the DVD player just puttered out. It was 8 years old! I picked up a new one yesterday at Walmart for $40. It's so much smaller than my old one!! It actually fits into the buffet side doors. The old DVD player had to sit under the tv!
Well,it's time for bed. I'm old you know :)
Keep it real, yo.
Well, it's nice to know your alive. :P
One of these days I'm gonna visit KC again. One of these days. (Translation: probably never.)
32 ain't so bad. Can't be any worse than 30 or 31. So buck up and enjoy it. I'll be coming along soon after. :P
